How much does Artwork Codex cost?

Artwork Codex has a free plan for 5 artworks, Starter from $9/month or $96/year, and Studio from $29/month or $288/year. Starter is for compact archives; Studio includes unlimited artworks, media storage up to 50GB, video uploads and streaming, attach documents to artworks, unlimited viewing rooms, up to 20 media items per artwork, up to 5,000 media items total, and up to 200 saved PDF catalogs. Both paid plans include a 14-day first-time trial.

Can I try it without signing up?

Yes. The live demo on the homepage creates a 10-minute sandbox account with a quick tutorial, sample artworks, collections, a viewing room, portfolio access, and room to add up to 3 of your own artworks. No email required.

Is there an iPhone app?

Yes. Artwork Codex has a native iPhone app for mobile capture, quick edits, offline work, and syncing with the web dashboard.

Is it for artists or collectors?

Both. During onboarding you choose artist, collector, or both. The interface and fields adjust — for example, an artist_name field appears for collectors to keep track.

Can I import from a spreadsheet?

Yes. CSV import maps columns automatically and supports all artwork metadata including tags, artist name, provenance, and images.

Can I embed my portfolio on my website?

Yes. Published portfolios include website integrations for WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and self-hosted websites. Copy the universal embed code or direct embed link from the Portfolio dashboard, and your website stays up to date as you update the saved portfolio in Artwork Codex.

Is Artwork Codex here to stay?

Yes. Artwork Codex is built as a long-term product for artists and collectors who need a dependable system of record. The business is intentionally lean and sustainable, with paid plans priced to keep the platform running, improving, and accessible over time.

Do I own my data?

Yes. Paid accounts can export the full library as CSV, and Studio can download media assets as a ZIP. Data is stored under row-level security.

What does a certificate of authenticity include?

The COA includes the artwork image and can optionally include the title, year, medium, dimensions, edition number, a signature field, and a unique auto-generated certificate number. It is rendered in EB Garamond typography and issued as a PDF.

Website integrations

Your portfolio, on your own site.
